The Director of ICT for Koforidua Technical University (KTU), Mr. Martin Offei Otu, on 12th June, 2017, handed over the three new computer labs to management of the University led by Prof (Mrs.) Smile Gavua Dzisi (Vice Chancellor), Mr. Alexander Kyere (Director of Audit) Dr. (Mrs.) Regina Okyere- Dankwah (Head of Quality Assurance Directorate) and Mr. Seth Okyere-Dankwah, (Head of Computer Science Department).
The three ultra-modern labs have a seating capacity of 234, and comes with a high-speed internet connection which will be used by the University community for learning and research purposes.
Location of those labs are;
1. FHAS lab, 72 seater (New Engineering block)
2. Computer Science lab, 72 seater (Computer Science Block – CSB)
3. Electronic library, 90 seater (Central Classroom Block – CCB)
Plans are far advanced to building three additional labs for the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology (FAST) and Faculty of Engineering.
Building of the three new computer labs is to ensure that the institution meets the standards required of its new status as a technical university which is research-oriented.
