So many brouhaha hoovering around this 2017/2018 Student Representative Council (SRC) of Koforidua Technical University executives portfolios. With reference with Motion on Notice for Interlocutory injunction which was dated on 5th Day of June,2017 by Abigail Ofori Appiah, Lawyer for the plaintiff. Prince Appaetu, Opoku Garry, Benjamin Arthur and Gospel Klint who filed a motion for Interlocutory injunction to retrain the school’s Electoral Commission from conducting the 2017/2018 elections for the executive officers which was scheduled on 6th Day of June,2017 until the final determination of the case.
An interview with Godfred Kofi Frimpong the Chairman for the Electoral Commission on KTU Radio 87.7 mhz said after a meeting with the applicants, management and presidential candidates the band for the injunction will be lifted today so as the electoral process continue. He said, upon fruitful deliberations with the applicants a filling letter will be done in the morning and court will serve the commission to proceed.
Frimpong continue that if they are unable to conduct this elections, candidates will be disqualified to contest for the election because of the SRC constitution Article 19 section (II and III). Management shall appoint intern staff to stir the affairs of students.
He concluded saying “all candidates should not loose hope, keep the fire burning and convince their followers to cast their vote. The entire students populace to comport themselves during and after the election. Electoral process will commence at 10.00am and urges all and sundering to vote”.
