Hmmmmmm. it’s sometimes sadden when the executives that’s elected to ensure the welfare of students do contrary. It’s funny sometimes when the characters in question sees the multitude as enemies of progress when a hole is pin pointed in their dealings. I will continue to ask, “Till when is the src going to stop taken the leniency of students to be their weakness?”. I sometimes sense hypocrisy but who am i to erase the wrong, if it’s not about me. The problem of someone shouldn’t be my problem but at the end of the day, who is going to bare the cost. Is it the students who elected the executives or the executives who have been elected.
There’s a twi adage which says ” s3 wo t)n wo yare3 a, na wonya ano aaduro” which literally means, you’ll never get the medication to your predicament if you keep mute”. Students are ignorant to the extent that, they even feel shy to confide in their friends if there’s a problem in relation to their health which the health and welfare officer is aware of this slated fact but funny enough, the health and welfare officer expects these victims to sit in the comfort of their homes and suffer, all because they aren’t ready to confide in her. The reason behind her stand still remains a mystery but the truth of the matter is, these victims also believe that, their anonymity is still at stake and for that matter they fear she cant keep their predicament as a secret. What will be the end result if students gets to know a well known lady wants to stop practicing lesbianism?
But i don’t think that should be a problem to the desk, if truly, the desk is there to serve a purpose which we all know is not as easy as expected, then i think it will be prudent the desk is sent to the door step of these victims. That is, either the contacts of professional/medical doctors, counselors and all resource persons who will be of best help to these victims are published for the perusal of the entire student populace so that when ever the need arises, these victims can pick any of the numbers and contact them direct instead of using the desk as an intermediary.
My humble plea which i think will make the desk relevant instead of its contrary. Thank you
All criticism are warmly welcome all in the interest of the students
