Why fight me because I don’t agree with your definition for fashion and idea about ANKLET WEARING. If you think you must agree with me and not have an opinion then you must be wrong. But just because you also have opinions does not make you right either.
Some of us are poorly educated about fashion and that’s even worse than contracting HIV/AIDS.
Most of our Ladies now a days have been trained to appreciate what is seen to the neglect of the unseen. THE IRONY OF TRUE FASHION. I’m sinking into reality and its about time we put some rationals to reasoning. How funny it is if “Anklet Wearing” is attributed to fashion. If a particular practice is making sense to someone, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will make sense to you. It’s very true that some practices made sense in the first century but not today.
If you believe Anklet Wearing is a fashion, As a Muslim, where lies the Islam in your DNA. As a Christian, where lies the Christianity in your soul and as a traditionalist, where lies your African values.
What does religion say about Anklet Wearing?
IN ISLAM, Anklet wearing is seen as immodest.
“And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment” [al-Noor 24:31]. This means that, although its permissible for women to wear anklets on their legs for the purpose of beautification, the Holy Quran went further to give a caution that, it shouldn’t be shake in front of non-maharam men to attract attention. Meaning its only the husband who has the right to have a feel of it and no other person.
IN CHRISTIANITY, Isaiah also gave identification to those who wear anklets and clearly stated what awaits them during the day of judgment. [Isaiah 3:18-20]. Meaning the Holy Bible also frowns against the wearing of anklet.
TRADITIONAL a religion also frowns against the wearing of anklet in the sense that, they believe in the olden days, some of their women were supposed to be married to their gods in the family. These women were the ones putting on anklet to signify that indeed they can have physical sex but will not marry. This is the main reason why our societies sees any lady on anklet as a prostitute.
In Asia just like Africa, anklet wearing means, “I can have sex but will not marry”. Isn’t that prostitution?
Why fight those who believe anklet wearing is prostitution but not fashion?
In India, during the first centuries, anklet was worn by women as part of their marriage ceremony, it was only to signify that, after they were available until marriage.
Its only in Egypt where they attributed anklet wearing to fashion, however, it was done to differentiate the rich from the poor basing on the precious metal they put on ie from gold to the least precious metal.
With all these slated facts, one might come to a conclusion that, indeed anklet wearing isn’t just a mere fashion as we sees it but then there’s a purpose for it, so if you can’t do as opined, then don’t do the contrary.
There’s a history behind every single thing we do on this earth today, and despite that, you don’t necessarily have to be a historian before you can differentiate the right from the wrong so you should be mindful of following trends you don’t understand or have less knowledge on .
