I did not hear a lot of talk on our airwaves this week to usher in Father’s day as done for our mothers! Is it that Father’s Day is difficult to sell or that there aren’t any fathers to celebrate out there.
In as much as we celebrated motherhood inspite of some very wicked and evil mothers out there, we need to celebrate fathers irrespective of the fact that some if not many are irresponsible and ‘unfatherly’.
I grew up having a very responsible father in the person of Alex Ampadu Boateng unfortunately for us he kicked the bucket, luckily for us a great Uncle (Mr Micheal Nii Korley Commodore) stepped in
My fear is that if we continue along this trajectory, we would soon make responsible fatherhood so unattractive that we’d risk losing even the so-called few good and dedicated fathers out there.
I have knowledge of some very wonderful fathers out there, some being personal friends, etc.
Now, to all such responsible fathers, I dedicate not just this post to you for your selfless dedication to fatherhood. HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!
