The campaign against indiscipline being championed by Citi FM and Citi TV has yielded positive results as more recalcitrant drivers are being arrested and made to face the full rigours of the law.
23 out of 39 culprits arrested on Tuesday on the Spintex Road for breaking traffic regulations have been put before the La District Magistrate Court.
The arrests follow a special police deployment in response to Citi FM and Citi TV‘s War Against Indiscipline (WAI) campaign.
About 40 drivers were on Monday, arrested on the motorway for making illegal U-turns.
They were arraigned and fined between GHc600 and GHc800.
The Presiding Judge, Juliet Osei Doudo threatened to increase the fines from GHc600 to Ghc1,200 to deter drivers from engaging in indisciplined acts.
The War Against Indiscipline campaign by Citi FM/Citi TV is also aimed at putting pressure duty bearers to ensure discipline on roads.
In response, the Police in partnership with Citi TV and Citi FM embarked on an operation to arrest drivers caught using illegal U-turns.
#WAI, since it started, has charged citizens to be responsible while reporting other irresponsible drivers by filming them in a name and shame approach.
