Good NAM 1 is back but what’s important at this stage? Paying customers or prosecution? Criminal prosecution would not pay the customers back their money whether he’s convicted or not.
The right of the customers to get their money back is through a civil action for the recovery of their money and not through a criminal prosecution if he’s unwilling/refuses to pay.
I would have thought that the prosecutors would have been more interested in the payment of customers money before any prosecution.
I would have also thought that the President being a lawyer himself and representing the interest of Ghanaians he would be more interested in ensuring that the customers get paid first before any prosecution for any criminal offense.
And I’ve brought in the office of the President because MenzGold is a national issue and the President should be directing how things should go on this matter if his officers are using the wrong approach especially when the interest of many Ghanaians are involved.
Well, we are still in the early stages so hopefully if NAM 1 is able to satisfy his bail conditions he can now use his temporal freedom to do the needful by making the necessary arrangements to pay his customers.
Indeed the criminal trial can curtail to a larger extent if he pays all customers.
Other charges such as engaging in banking without license can be argued out in court as to whether what he was doing was banking or not and it will be interesting to know how that turns out.
