“As a pioneer in the technical university education and training for persons with a disability, the University continues to provide an academic setting where Students with Disability are suitably supported and encouraged and are independent of any form of rejection, discrimination, or harassment, so that they may accomplish their full potential and make career choices for themselves.
Currently, there are seventy-four (74) students with disability at the University, fourteen of whom are graduating today, including seven hearing-impaired students.
This year, some eighteen (18) students with disability have already been given admission into different programmes of study, and I know there would be more.
The University believes that disability is an integral aspect of a diversified society, hence the need to encourage self-determination to ensure equal opportunities for our persons with disabilities.
The University shall strive to ensure that no student is deprived of his/her inclusion and participation in any aspect of University life as a result of a disability,“ he said.

It is envisaged that when this facility is completed, TTU will be the Centre of Excellence in Plumbing, Welding and Fabrication training for the oil and other industries.

The Council Chairperson of TTU, Dr. Henrientta Abane, said education remains the most effective tool to bridge the inequality gap in society hence the council has in it turner ensured TTU offers just that.
“Takoradi Technical University has the vision to build and equip our students with the skills and capabilities to thrive in a modern economy and also have the consciousness to contribute to a better society. I wish to assure the government that the university has started off with a strong foundation and we plan to sustain and transform TTU into an outstanding university that contributes to the development of our country and global community,“ she said.
