Teachers teaching in the Junior high schools (JHS) across the country and are doing their sandwich programmes be it three (3), five (5) or six(6) semester programmes in the University of Cape Coast (UCC) are to note the following information.
The Management of the Institute of Education under the University of Cape Coast has sought permission from the Ghana Education Service (GES) to allow affected teachers to report on campus on April 19th, 2021 to continue their face-to-face interaction with lecturers and also be allowed to write their end of semester examination.
According to a letter signed by the Director-General of GES, District Directors are to ensure that head teachers of the affected public basic schools put in the necessary arrangements in order not to disrupt academic activities between Monday, 19th April and May 1,2021.
Currently, teachers who are doing the newly introduced one year top-up programme are reporting to campus to continue academic activities. They will be spending two weeks on campus; one week for revision and the other for end of semester examination.
Consequently, teachers who are pursing Senior High school programmes will report on 24th April 2021 to spend one week on campus. The one week will be used to write the end of semester examination starting on Monday, April 26th, 2021 and ends on Friday, 30th April 2021.
Both groups will write the exams on the same date and finish on the same date. In addition, they will both leave campus on May 1, 2021. Next semester begins right after the next vacation which is around July.
This implies that, you are going to pay for another fees which can be split into two but must be completed before the semester ends else you will not be allowed to write an end of semester examination
