Illegal mining isn’t just an environmental problem but also a social, economical, and national issue where more resources must be channeled to reduce such activities.
Illegal mining (Galamsey)isn’t helping our environment, these activities cause serious pollution and destroy our water bodies and farms lands if care is not taken our next generation won’t have portable water to drink, even though the government is failing the fight against this illegal mining
This is the time for rational deliberation and stakeholders must help solve this problem.
Even though it provides jobs for the youth, we must follow better procedures in our operations
This is the time for the opinion leaders, chiefs, and stakeholders to come together and help reduce the illegal aspects of their operations.
What’s so worrying is some of our chiefs are even involved in this operation, that’s why they find it very difficult to condemn it, all lead to corruption and greediness of our leaders.
The way forward, the central government must put serious measures or mechanisms in place to stop this activity for the betterment of our country.
