The first session of the 17th Congregation for Bachelor of Technology (Btech) Graduands of Koforidua Technical University was held last Saturday 15th May 2021.
The Vice-Chancellor Prof. David K. Essumang as part of his welcome address gave a report of the state of affairs of the University. He informed the gathering that works on a multi-purpose building complex comprising classrooms, offices for lectures, and an auditorium is currently being constructed and management together with stakeholders will work together to complete this project on time.
Professor Essumang also stated that residential accommodation for staff members and students remains the greatest challenge facing the university. With a student population of about 7000, only 10% get accommodated at the only GETFund Hostel which is situated on campus, he, therefore, calls on the state to assist build another hostel for the University.
A total of 391 Btech Graduands who completed their studies in 2020 received their certificates.
A total of 41 students obtained first class, 206 obtained second class Upper while 142 students obtained Second Class Lower. Those who obtained passes were only 2.
