The National Teaching Council (NTC) from Wednesday, May 12, 2021, will commence a nationwide qualified in-service teachers licenses distribution starting from Greater Accra Region and later to other regions in Ghana.
NTC in a statement copied to Educationweb.com.gh said it will at a later date communicate details of the issuance of the in-service teacher’s license in other regions including the Ashanti Region to members of the public.
For unprofessional teachers, the Council said it will after the issuance of the in-service teacher’s license award them a temporary license to enable them to upgrade themselves and sit for the teacher licensure to be qualified.
The Teaching Council also on request from relevant stakeholders for teachers to be given more time to register for the license at the Teacher Portal Ghana has indefinitely extended the May 7, 2021 deadline.
“Teachers are to note that registration at the TPG is the first step for qualified teachers to be issued the license. After licensing of teachers, NTC will register and issue a temporary license to non-qualified teachers.”
The National Teaching Council following the extension of the deadline has urged teachers to “visit the https://tpg.ntc.gov.gh to register for their license.
