The Institute of education of the university of cape coast is set to withhold the results of students who are owing the colleges.
In a press release sighted by Ghjuice.com, this decision was made after the professional board’s meeting which was held on 18th May, 2021
The release future asked the various colleges to submit names of students owing the college by wednesday, 26th May 2021 before the results get released on 28th May 2021
AKUMBO JUDE APAMBILLA, ATTRICONS PRESIDENT has however expressed his disappointment in a long write up.
“UCC AT IT AGAIN!
Two years ago, we received directives from the institute of education, UCC, that we should pay our examination fees of gh¢400 to them, straight, instead of paying to the Colleges. This, to them, was to make sure that the trainee teacher doesn’t owe the institute.
We teacher trainees never disputed this, we complied.
The synopsis above isn’t the problem. The problem is the letter below. Why this call to block the results of defaulters for the Colleges when they can do it all by themselves?
Isn’t this supposed to be a student-management issue or management vrs SRC?. This is an undue interference on the part of UCC institute of education.
Dear UCC, We pay GH¢800 to you every year as exams fees, almost the same amount paid by your regular students as school fees. We the teacher trainees again pay twice of the above amount as school fees to the Colleges, colleges that cannot administer their own examination!
I am yet to be informed why they cannot pay our examination fees from our school fees. As a matter of fact, Institute Of Education, UCC have overstepped their boundaries.
This is a wake up call to all trainees to fight back. It is a call to all the well meaning Ghanaians, to step in, to intervene and to rescue the the vulnerable teacher trainees under exploitation.”
