Ghanaian Teacher and YouTube content creator known as Teacher Kwadwo has said that he stayed home for 7 good years before gaining admission into the college of education to pursue a diploma. He revealed that while delivering a sermon on Maame Grace’s Christian programme dubbed, ‘Celebrity Pulpit’ on YouTube.
Teacher Kwadwo, born Michael Owusu Afriyie came to limelight sometime in 2017 after his comedy video went viral. His witty manner of using the Twi Language has won the admiration of all who watch and listen to him.
It didn’t start all frowsy for the 32 year old comedian. Things were difficult for his family, but he managed to complete senior high school in 2007. Unfortunately, he failed in some of his papers. To add salt to injury, his mother passed away along the line, and so had to live with his grandmother.
He discoled that he wrote redemials (NOV-DEC) 4 times. 7 years after he had completed senior high school, he was still at home hoping to better his grades to enter the KNUST. Some mates of his had long completed tertiary and were working, but he was still depending on his grandmother to survive.
In 2014, he took the decision to enroll in the college of education. He qualified as professional teacher and was posted in 2017. He then began to wonder how he could catch up with the colleagues of his who were already gainfully employed.
All along, he knew he possessed some talents for which the world was looking. And so, in the same year that he passed out as professional teacher, he began making funny videos and posting them on Facebook just to entertain his friends.
Little did he know that those videos would would go far and make him what he is today. Today, he is a sought after figure who has signed ambassadorial deals with lots of brands. He is also a role model for a lot of young people.
If he had sat on his talent, where would he have been by now? Each and every person has at least a talent that the world is looking for, but unfortunately, many bury theirs. The Bible says that with one’s talent, they will appear before kings. It means that when one has been able to identify, groomed and used their talent for the good of mankind, they will go places.
Talents are a gift from God, but must be groomed first. That explains why when Teacher Kwadwo began to use his, he reached out to pacesetters like Nana Ama Mcbrown, etc. who were versed in that area, so as to pick a thing or two from them.
One thing that people must bear in mind is that God himself is committed to granting special grace to all those who put their talents to good use. That explains why as soon as one begins to harness their talent, unexpected opportunities come their way to make everything fall in place.
When he was still home seven years after completing senior high, he thought all hope was gone. He had no idea how he would catch up with those mates of his who had long completed tertiary and were gainfully employed.
Nevertheless, only a few months after puting his talent to use, his name was everywhere. Today, many mates of his wish to have identified and used their talents. Nonetheless it is not too late for anyone to make use of their talent; it is better late than never.
