Ghana tertiary excellence awards have been very disappointing and disgraceful after honouring their nominees with a common Itel yam phone, disheartening citation of A4 size and plaque without a certificate to some of the nominees.
According to a nominee, the category was able to raise an amount of Over 9000 cedis only in his category.
Just imagine the amount that would be raised for the other categories and they are almost about 30 categories. Every nominee made his or her category competitive by putting in much effort to vote extraordinary. The awards given to the winners were actually made them feel cheated and disrespected. No need to entertain them anymore.
After having a chat with him this is what he said.
“This is my first time going for an award and looking at what happened it has really discouraged me from standing for any award again in my lifetime. How can they award me with an itel yam as a surprise package for winning the best student graphic designer🥺 for the whole Tertiary institution in Ghana? Not only me but all the winners in over 20 categories also had the same thing. I just don’t understand. Could you imagine I didn’t get my certificate of participation? It’s just a plaque, A4 size citation, and an itel yam😭😭”.
